Hi,
If you’ve just received a notice or notification from YouTube claiming that your video contains content
that is owned or licensed by Tunewave Label, this page is made for you.
Please read the Q&A below, which we hope will clarify your doubts.
If you upload a video on YouTube and receive a «copyright notification», it means you’ve received what is officially called a Copyright Claim.
This happens because your video contains content that is owned or licensed by one of the artists, record labels, or distribution partners working with Tunewave Label. We provide the technology and platform for music distribution worldwide, including YouTube Content ID, but we do not own or license the content ourselves.
YouTube Content ID is a system that allows copyright owners to identify and manage their content on YouTube. All videos uploaded to YouTube are scanned against a database of files submitted by content owners. It works like a digital fingerprint that ensures the right ownership allocation of music and allows rights holders to decide whether to track, monetize, or block the content.
When you upload a video containing copyrighted audio, YouTube automatically generates a claim if the audio matches a recording delivered to Content ID. Rights owners can choose whether their music should be monetized, tracked, or blocked on YouTube.
Because one of our partner labels or distributors delivered their content to YouTube through Tunewave Label’s platform. You’ll usually see the claim in this format:
[Tunewave Label] on behalf of [Record Label]
The second name ([Record Label]) is the company or artist who owns the content.
They are responsible for the claim, while Tunewave only acts as the technology provider.
